Terms of use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of sewing.tools (the "Site"), operated by Quatrio Inc. ("Quatrio," "we," "us," or "our"), a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. The service

The Site offers free sewing and quilting calculators and a sewing machine picker that recommends machines sold by our partner retailers. No account is needed. We don't provide professional advice through the Site.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• use the Site in a way that breaks any applicable federal, provincial, or local law;
• try to interfere with the Site's infrastructure or availability;
• use automated scripts or bots in a way that degrades the Site for others; or
• copy or exploit any part of the Site for commercial purposes without our written permission (the results you get from the calculators are yours to use freely).

3. Calculator results are estimates

The calculators use standard sewing and quilting formulas and general guidelines. They can't account for everything about your project: fabric shrinks, stretches, and frays differently, and cutting and seam accuracy vary. Results are provided for information and convenience only. We make no guarantee that any result is accurate, complete, or right for your project, and you're responsible for checking measurements before you cut or buy materials.

4. Machine recommendations, prices, and availability

Machine picker recommendations are informational, based on your answers and our catalog. Prices, availability, specifications, warranties, and shipping are set by the partner retailers and can change at any time; the retailer's own site is the final word. Any purchase is a contract between you and the retailer, not Quatrio.

5. Affiliate links

Some links on the Site are affiliate links to Linda's Quilt Shoppe and SewingMachinesPlus. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide how machines rank in the picker. A partner link takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Third-party links

The Site may link to other websites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, privacy practices, or products, and visiting them is at your own risk.

7. Intellectual property

The Site's design, code, branding, and original content belong to Quatrio Inc. and are protected by Canadian copyright law.

You may:

• use any result the calculators give you for any personal or commercial purpose;
• link to the Site and share its URLs, including machine picker results.

You may not:

• copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Site's code, design, or content;
• frame or embed the Site in another website without permission; or
• use the sewing.tools or Quatrio names or logos in a way that suggests our endorsement.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Quatrio Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its results — including wasted fabric or materials, lost profits, or damages related to products bought from partner retailers. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed $100 CAD.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Quatrio Inc. harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of anyone else's rights.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and your continued use of the Site after that means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.
